No one bikes in Ottawa?

The Ottawa Sun recently featured a story about the Laurier Avenue bike lanes having an effect on business. Several of the commenters to the article said that no one cycles in Ottawa. Of course, it was a silly statement and ignorant of the facts. I couldn't help but think of such comments when I passed by these bike racks at 160 Elgin.

That's a lot of bikes!

  1. I have never seem more bikers than this year. I somehow got my wife to start biking with me to work along the canal for the last 4 weeks.

I have been enjoying the new Laurier Bike lanes - with those big pilons still blocking the lanes - I feel like Luke Skywalker in my low recumbent flying through the deathstar as I work my way into the Minto Place parking...

May the Force be with all Laurier Bikers!!!

  2. An advantage for the recumbents...slipping under the yellow barrier tape!

  3. There are so many advantages to recumbents. The feeling of flying a jet fighter is just one of them.

  4. I like a tall upright. I feel like I am astride a big horse. But there as many cycling styles as there are cyclists.
